Crispijn Ariëns
Crispijn Ariens was born in 1989 in the town Boxtel in the South of The Netherlands. He got immediately involved in inline skating and he was so successful that he at the age of 19 years was selected to represent The Netherlands on the world championships. Two years later, 2010, he won his first silver medal on the 10km at the European championships. In 2011 he also started to participate in marathon skating on artificial ice. However, as we have mentioned before he was especially very successful in long distance races such as the ONK in Hallum of 100 km which he won three times in 2016, 2017 and 2019 . It was not always easy to win, especially not in the race in which Bart Swings also participated.
In 2017 he won the alternative eleven cities tour of 200 km on the Weissensee. In an interview he says: "This is by far the most beautiful race of all. I had to attack in the closing stages, because I wanted my name on that trophy and I did it!", Later he repeated this once more in 2021
"There is another series of long distance speed skating races which is known under the name "KPN Grand Prix". This competition consist of a series of different long distance races on natural ice, some of them 100 to 200 km. On the basis of the results obtained in the serie of races the winner of this competition is determined.. Four times, three years after each other, Crspijn Aries was the overall winner of the KPN Grand Prix.
An impression of these races in Finland can be seen in the video below..It takes some time before the skaters appear in this landscape but in this way you get an impression of the circumstances during these races.

All these results show that Crispijn Ariens un dountedly is one of the best long distance skaters.
The same is true for Hilde Goovaerts who won the ONK in Hallum 5 times and once the Marathon of Berlin.
